The Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC (TSD) and amendments and the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 No. 1881 (The Regulations) (TSR) contain two lists of allergenic fragrances with restrictions.

• allergenic fragrances that are banned with a limit of 100 mg/kg.
• allergenic fragrances that can only be used on certain toys and are required to labelled on the toy if present above 100 mg/kg.

There have been updates to the fragrance restrictions in both the EU and GB and this guide outlines the requirements, highlights the differences between the GB restrictions in the Regulations and those in the TSD. The guide also gives information on supply chain and other actions that can help in ensuring and demonstrating compliance.
