The BTHA is proud to be a member of the following organisations;
The National Toy Council is a forum which was set up by the BTHA to bring together organisations and individuals connected with children or concerned with their welfare. Its main objectives are:
- To ensure that a responsible and well-informed dialogue is maintained between the toy industry and the public, particularly in regard to the safety of its products and the manner in which the toys are marketed.
- To encourage the exchange of ideas on toy-related issues affecting children and their parents.
- To provide a forum in which such issues can be identified and examined in an environment where both commercial and social interests are represented.
The NTC meets twice a year and tackles issues that are currently of interest or concern to the industry and general public. As a more broad-based organisation than the BTHA, representing not only the industry but also children's welfare, the National Toy Council plays an important role in delivering key messages of advice and information to the consumer on toys, play and children.
Toy Industries of Europe is an action group for the European toy industry. Every day TIE interfaces with EU institutions and other European stakeholders on behalf of the toy industry advocating its position in the fields that are central to the toy sector. TIE is made up of European toy associations and corporations that have come together to speak collectively as the voice of the industry at European level.
The International Council of Toy Industries aims to act as a centre of discussion and information exchange on trends and issues important to the toy industry, to promote safety standards, to reduce or eliminate barriers to trade, and to advance social responsibility in the industry with programmes to address working environmental concerns, fair and lawful employment practices and workplace safety.
The National Children's Bureau was founded in 1963. The NCB is a charitable organisation that acts as an umbrella body for organisations working with children and young people within England and Northern Ireland. Through working in partnership, sharing knowledge, resources and services the NCB has created a powerful, authoritative and influential voice to improve the lives of children and young people.
