The BTHA supports full members with the chemical requirements in toys for both the UK and EU. We have launched a new central resource, the Chemical Dashboard, to bring all the BTHA’s chemical guides and tools into one place.
During the webinar, the BTHA’s toy safety advisory team will take members through the new area of the website and show you how to get the most out of the new the Substance Toolkit.
The webinar will be recorded.
What is the Chemical Dashboard?
The Chemical Dashboard is the central member resource to help navigate the chemical legislation that applies to toys sold in the UK and EU. It includes detailed guidance across each of the legislative areas where requirements are found, and a unique searchable Substance Toolkit that is designed to assist members with managing chemical restrictions that apply to toys and the materials from which they are made. The toolkit includes 43 substance guides for specific substance details.
What is the Substance Toolkit?
The Substance Toolkit can help members:
- identify chemical legislation that specifies limits for toys or materials commonly used within toys
- provide guidance on how to identify materials and toys at risk of non- compliance due to a restricted chemical substance
- provide guidance on how to reduce risk or non-compliance and how to demonstrate compliance
- enable users to make informed decisions when selecting materials and compliance implications of these materials
- make informed decisions about product and material testing / assessment
- understand which materials require greater management to ensure compliance.
