Radio Equipment Directive (RED)

The RED (Radio Equipment Directive) 2014/53/EU establishes a regulatory framework for the marketing, operation, and compliance of radio equipment within the European Union. Its purpose is to ensure that devices using radio frequencies meet essential health, safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and efficient use of the radio spectrum requirements. To comply with the RED Directive, manufacturers, importers, and distributors of radio equipment must ensure that their products meet the regulations before they can be legally marketed within the EU. Compliance includes adherence to requirements for safety, technical documentation, and labelling.
